Licensing & Collaborations

Print Licensing

Peacoquette offers non-exclusive licensing for select designs.
Certain historic reproductions are excluded.

Spoonflower is Peacoquette’s preferred printing partner and primary retail platform.
Designs are priced, scaled, and optimized for production through Spoonflower. Licensing is offered for projects that require printing outside of Spoonflower.

When Licensing Makes Sense

Licensing is appropriate when a project requires a specific printer, material, production method, or commercial use not available through Spoonflower, including theatrical, manufacturing, or professional applications.

Pricing Structure (Textiles)

Licensing fees for textile projects consist of two components:

1. Administrative Fee

A flat $50 USD administrative fee applies per licensed design.
This covers correspondence, licensing documentation, listing, and record maintenance, and ensures the request is viable for our studio.

2. Missed Commission Fee

In addition, we charge the commission Peacoquette would have earned had the fabric been purchased directly through Spoonflower.

This is calculated using the closest comparable Spoonflower fabric type, based on Spoonflower’s published pricing:

Comparable Spoonflower price × yardage × 15%

Example:
If a comparable Spoonflower fabric is priced at $20 per yard and 20 yards are required:
20 × $20 × 15% = $60
Total licensing fee: $50 + $60 = $110

This grants the right to print 20 yards of that design.

Non-Textile Licensing

Licensing for non-textile applications (including but not limited to stationery, accessories, ceramics, packaging, or manufactured goods) is structured on a per-item basis rather than by yardage. Pricing varies depending on the item type, production method, quantity, and intended use. Fees are quoted individually.

Large-scale manufacturing, resale goods, or durable products may require adjusted pricing.

Special and Unforeseen Uses

Projects involving installations, projections, exhibitions, immersive environments, or other non-standard applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Pricing and terms for such uses are determined individually based on scope, duration, and visibility.

Additional Terms

  • Multiple Designs: Discounts may be available when licensing three or more designs.

  • Repeat Print Runs: If additional yardage of the same design is needed within one year, the administrative fee is waived. Only the yardage-based fee applies.

  • License Duration: Licenses expire one year from purchase or once the licensed quantity has been printed, whichever occurs first.

  • Negotiation: Terms may be adjusted prior to licensing on a case-by-case basis.

  • Payment: PayPal invoicing is standard. PayPal processing fees (currently approximately 3%) apply.

Usage and Restrictions

  • Licensing is non-exclusive and non-transferable.

  • Licensing applies only to the specific design(s), quantities, and use outlined in correspondence and invoicing.

  • No changes may be made to the design except for scale.

  • All permitted adjustments must be coordinated through Peacoquette.

  • Licensed files may be transferred only to the designated printer.

  • Files must be deleted or destroyed at the end of the license term.

  • The licensed design may be used only in the manner outlined in written correspondence with Peacoquette.

If the print run exceeds the licensed quantity or time frame, the client agrees to contact Peacoquette to license additional rights prior to further printing.

Attribution to Peacoquette is appreciated where reasonably possible but not required unless otherwise specified.

Licensing terms are governed by U.S. law.

Collaborations

Peacoquette is open to thoughtfully aligned collaborations on a limited, project-specific basis. Collaborative proposals are evaluated individually and may involve custom terms, shared crediting, or alternative licensing structures.
